My Academics

My academics has had its highs and lows throughout my life but recently it has been very good for me even though it causes me a lot of stress. As I have gone throughout high school, the projects are required to be more thorough, therefore, I am more involved.

I have had many projects/assignments throughout the year but the one that I would call my favorite is called “Uniting the Community.”

The “Uniting the Community” project was given to me by Mr. Crane in my Government class. This was out first project of the year and along with creating something original, we also had to present it to important people within the Reynoldsburg community.

There were many steps required to complete this assignment and it took around a month to. This required my group and I to spend days after school, contact different people, and really invest our time in it.

Our presentation was about creating a parent, teacher, and student organization (also known as a P.T.S.O) for Encore Academy at Reynoldsburg High School.

My group and I realized that Encore Academy used to have a P.T.O but it went away a couple years ago for some reason. Some of the requirements for this project were to contact someone with experience in P.T.O as well as someone who could make this happen or at least guide us through it.

We were also required to make an original art piece and create a presentation to propose this idea. When everyone presents their ideas, whatever the Reynoldsburg community members like, they will try to make it happen.

The most challenging thing that came our way was coming up with the idea because it seemed like everything else was already thought of or taken by another group.

Because of this, our project was delayed and we felt rushed to complete the task.

Eventually, everything came together with the right determination and persistence of asking around about what could potentially make this happen. In the end it really paid off and we all ended up getting a solid “A.”

What I learned is how many people are active in this community about little things that I do not even think about. It is very crazy how much work has to be put into things you perceive as something that should not be a big deal to make happen.

I also learned that there are multiple steps in the process and it is long and strenuous. In the end of this project, I was very relieved and happy with what my group and I had done in what seemed like such little time.
